I was born and raised in Sweden by the best mom
in the
world. Oh, you knew that already? If you haven't already met her
(Ireene), when you do, you'll know what I'm talking about. OK,
let me try something else. My grandfather (the one that I have
yet to meet) is a German painter and must have rubbed off his
artistic talent on my father, who use to build his own mini-models
of cars, airplanes, boats, you name it! He was pretty good at
it too, because he won numerous competitions. That's about all
I remember of him, besides the fact that he was very kind, loving
and the best dad in the world of course.
The rest of my family is very small. You will meet my favorite
cousin, Christian, because he is the one who will walk me down
the aisle. I have no sisters or brothers, which can explain my
need to be the center of attention, which I will be alongside
the love of my life on my wedding day. I mean, I have traveled,
seen and been many places but who knew that I would "have
to" travel across the Atlantic Ocean to meet that special
one!
Let's see, what else? Growing up in Stockholm was an adventure.
Mia, pretty Mia, and I used to chase the boys down the street
together. She and I went on my first trip abroad (Greece) without
my mom. Yes I have traveled without her, but not too many times!
Mia and I had a blast! I will not bore you with the details, maybe
some other time. After College (first one) where I met Anna, my
Maid of Honor and whose first born daughter is my God daughter,
I sold beer and soda at one of the biggest breweries in Sweden
for 7 years! Without Anna my Swedish college days would have been
sheer hell!
After drinking enough beer for a lifetime, I decided to go to
Italy for a year to study Interior Design at the Italian Fashion
Academy in Florence. That was truly one of my best years and that's
where I met Elin (who unfortunately will not be able to make it
to the wedding). I will miss her dearly!
Along with endlessly redecorating my room as a kid, nights of
Interior Design classes (in Stockholm), my year in Italy, my Bachelors
Degree in Graphic Design (believe it or not I graduated as a Phi
Theta Kappa honor student, winning many of my school's design
competitions. Sorry, I had to brag a little) and my Real Estate
license, I now work as the Marketing Manager at Il Villaggio Realty,
one of Miami's most prestigious Real Estate companies. Hopefully
you'll meet all of my crazy co-workers and my two bosses at the
wedding.
How I ended up In Miami, Florida the Sunshine State? Well, first
of all, I love the sun; second, after my year in Italy my mom
gave me a trip to Miami as a "graduation" gift. Since
that moment I couldn't let go of the thought of staying more than
just two weeks at the time. My wish would come true. June 10th,
1994, the same week as O.J. Simpson was chased down the highway,
suspect of double homicide, I was back on American soil, just
to stay for another 10 years!
P.S. Not to forget about all my other friends (you know who you
are) who play a very important part in my life!
